Out of nowhere, Alan’s reached me through some odd back-channel link that he won’t divulge (which is probably a good thing, since I’m rather mad at him).

His message, in full, reads:

Shorah Tim,

I heard about the second closing of the Cavern; My sympathies go out to you, as I know it was your want to see people down there again. I’m also hearing some odd scuttlebutt that I personally don’t believe, but perhaps it will be sorted out in time for your next appearance as Guardsman.

Anyway, my main reason to contact you was about where you’ve apparently ‘moved on’ to. Though I’ve heard good things about Tyr (and GoMa), you don’t have the money or the time to invest. I’ve taken the liberty to contact your family - you certainly haven’t - and confirmed this, so you can’t wiggle (or waffle, or whatever its called) about it.

I suggest you track down the GoW and get your butt back into that Pahts shell of yours. You’ll be doing both yourself and your wallet a favor. Don’t put yourself down the road I followed for so long; That way madness lay (for now)…

Obviously, I’m not going to tell you where I’ve been or what I’m doing nowadays (not until you’ve calmed down from this rather direct letter), but I will say that things have been well and occasionally I run into friends of yours.

Best of luck to you, and enjoy your upcoming vacation,
Alan Kiesler

Can’t believe he sent that. However, he’s right. I’ll be pulling up the Guard Outpost in Tyr, but have plans to re-locate it into its own Age.

Materials are already being collected, with the help of a supplier who owes me big-time (and who also knows where the Pahts folks are at nowadays).

–TSK

EDIT - A thought occurred to me; Is Alan trying to provoke me into action due to the ‘recent scuttlebutt’ he alluded to? Dunno, but will need to keep a better watch in the appropriate channels…

I’ve definately been away for awhile; Shortly after the Cavern closed up, I had some important business Topside to deal with (audits anyone?). My hands are a wreck too due to the MMA training (along with my wrists and shoulders), so typing’s been a limited thing.

I’ve still been doing some exploring of my own though, but a slightly different place than a normal age. It’s called Tyr, and its most definately inhabited!

Dark and foreboding, the place was covered in mists when I first got there, and was therefore hard to navigate (easily enough ‘fixed’ prior to my second visit). It definately matches my mood about D’ni after being denied a second time, which amusingly cheered me up.

It’s quite beautiful actually, in its way. Someone apparently did some pre-fab work ahead of me (and the others I’ve talked to here), as the various towns are populated with buildings which look like sunken Viking helmets.

So yes, there are folks here already. Apparently GoMa has quite a presence here - they’re in the process of securing a small mountain for their HQ and the land around it for housing (and as of yesterday, that included me). Members of TMP also have a HQ but its on an island quite a ways off from here.

Anyway, my old Cannon Elph is starting to show its age, and the battery died shortly after the arrival. I promise to collect pics of this place once I’ve fixed that.

–TSK

I can’t believe I went and did this.
Just totally blasted the old site and re-built from scratch. But, it’s a new day, so to speak, and this was probably the time.
More later, I’m still getting settings in place so I can at least not go totally nuts. ;)
