Cross-Compile Failure 2

Strike two. Irssi normal code compiles fine, even with all the options I sent it.

Bah.

Well, there is still the DebianSlug and similar releases for my little box. Or make it a full-fledged IRC bouncer of some sort (one that connects via SSL/HTTPS).

Still looking…

Continuing Fun With an Irssi Cross-Compile

OK, an update for getting a cross-compile working for my Linksys NAS:

The Sager now can cross-compile OK, I did the basic kernel set for testing and it ran all the way through.

Cross-compile of irssi has shown a couple things so far:

– DEPENDS was incorrect on bitbake file, changed glib-1.2 to glib-2.0.
– I now have a compile error (looks syntax-related) on expandos.c in irssi’s core.

This is, at least, a partial success. :) But now I need to grab another copy of irssi from svn and try to compile it normally under FC4, to confirm its irssi’s codebase itself or some patch that the bitbake cross-compile applied.

Wonderful…

Normal Comments Are Back

Well, got pestered enough about the existing comment restrictions that I spent this morning trying to fix them.

Six or so plugins later, I’ve once again turned on ‘non-account’ comments. There’s a few things in place for moderation purposes while I work the kinks out, please bear with me.

Fun with Merging From SL Blogger

Finally found a way to easily import the weblog entries from SL Blogger (sidebar), and ran it.

Unfortunately, when importing from an RSS feed it will only import what was *in* the RSS feed file. Oh well, did not take that long to clean up.

Anyway, take a look back at the June-Sept timeframe or the topics marked [SLB Import] for the older posts.

Comments and Second Thoughts

Those visiting may note I’ve added the ‘Second Thoughts’ weblog to my sidebar listing. It’s not a mistake.

Unlike those I see rampaging each other via the SL forums these days, I do feel that Prokofy does make sense at some level. I’ll admit it takes a while sometimes to figure out what, :) but as a ‘third party’ observer of sorts (my heart is still with Uru) its easier to see perhaps.

One of the most humourus things, though, is that both Prok and the FIC he rants about really are concerned about the same thing – the future of Second Life. However, they’re fighting each other so vehemently that they’re not doing the *correct* thing damnit, and turning collectively to Linden Labs with their grievances.

This is so much like the DRC-related sqabbles in Uru Prologue it makes me want to cry sometimes.

Perhaps that is why I applied for the Resident Moderator group on the SL forums.

We shall see…
